Experience Mount Vernon Design Aesthetic Experience Committee is happy to announce the 2023 Banner Campaign!
The Aesthetic Experience Committee presents a schedule of banner themes to reflect the character of Mount Vernon and the surrounding areas, as well as promote downtown and add aesthetic to events happening in the Central Business District.
Campaigns hosted by the Experience Mount Vernon Aesthetic Committee include:
Memorial Day Banners:
Memorial Day banners are a way for community members to memorialize a loved one who lost their life fighting with the United States Armed Forces. Each 2-sided banner will include a photo of the service member and will hang in Downtown for the entire month of May. The production cost is $100 per banner and banners will be returned to the sponsoring family at the conclusion of the campaign. Sponsorship for Memorial Day 2023 is now open at the link below.
Veterans Day Banners:
Veterans Day banners are a way for community members to honor a loved is a Veteran of the United States Armed Forces. Each 2-sided banner will include a photo of the service member and will hang in Downtown for in October/November. The production cost is $150 per banner and banners will be returned to the sponsoring family at the conclusion of the campaign. Previously sponsored banners can be renewed for $75. Sponsorship for Veterans Day 2023 is now open at the link below.
Holiday banners are a wonderful way for your business or organization to send warm holiday greetings to residents and visitors to Mount Vernon. Each 2-sided, full color banner will hang in downtown beginning the week of Thanksgiving through New Years. The production cost for a banner is $150 for a new or reprinted banner and $75 for a renewal of a previously printed banner. There are three designs for the 2023 Holiday season (the colors of the Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday banners will be determined by the Aesthetics Committee based on need/balance):
The Business & Non-Profit Banner Campaigns are a great way to graphically or symbolically showcase cultural and civic events, activities, or facilities of general public interest. For-profit businesses must promote a cause or public interest topic rather than promoting their individual business/services. For example, a law firm may choose to educate the public on the importance of online privacy, or an accounting firm may sponsor banners related to financial literacy.
The fee for renting pole banners is $500 for businesses and $400 for non-profit organizations. This includes 10 pole banners for 30 days in Downtown Mount Vernon. The sponsoring organization will be responsible for designing their banner (with approval from the Aesthetic Committee) and getting it produced by a company of their choosing and Experience Mount Vernon will work with the City of Mount Vernon to hang the banners in Downtown.
