At Experience Mount Vernon, we believe that a vibrant downtown starts with a beautiful downtown. We are committed to keeping Downtown Mount Vernon beautiful through our aesthetic initiatives, such as winter snow removal, holiday lights and decorations, summer plantings and mulch, and public art installations.

At Experience Mount Vernon we look for ways to enhance our beautiful downtown - not change it. Through our economic development initiatives, we have been successful in celebrating our long-established small businesses and supporting new ones just opening their doors by bringing Mount Vernon and Knox County Downtown.

More than just Mount Vernon’s Central Business District, Downtown is a community, a place to gather, a place to build relationships. At Experience Mount Vernon we are dedicated to enhancing that sense of community through our flagship programs such as First Fridays, Johnny Appleseed Festival, and Winter in Downtown.
